January 21-24, 2018. The Foundation provided training on “Collective Negotiation” at Ruankaew Resort Mahasarakham province to the informal worker leaders under the project “Inclusive Urban Development for Informal Workers”, which is supported by the European Union. There are 34 informal worker leaders from 7 areas namely Songkhla, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Samut Songkhram, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham and Bangkok. The training was very warm welcomed by Ms. Suratin Narapirom, Deputy Mayor of Mahasarakham, Mahasarakam Hairdresser and Beauty Parlor Club and other Groups of informal workers in Maha Sarakham. Trainees receive knowledge and negotiation skills, such as negotiation steps, strategies and tactics around the table, writing agreement as well as the implementation guidelines when getting unsuccessful results. In addition to the knowledge and skills they gained, leaders also see the benefits of networking of informal workers to strengthening their advocacy of relevance laws and policies.
